To celebrate two fantastic years of Works by Women SF, our Meetup group saw a play by the first playwright we featured in our Plays by Women series: Rinne Groff (The Ruby Sunrise, Jimmy Carter was a Democrat). “77%” was a part of the San Francisco Playhouse Sandbox Series.
Our 24th Meetup was a free one, where we had the pleasure of seeing Lisa Wolpe, founder of the LA Women’s Shakespeare Company, deliver a charged performance in “Shakespeare and The Alchemy of Gender” at the Presidio this evening.
Aurora Theatre’s insanely fantastic, much-acclaimed Rapture, Blister, Burn was the reason for our 23rd Meetup, and did it live up to our expectations! 2013’s Pulitzer Prize finalist is every bit the scorcher we’d expected it to be – and then some!
For our 22nd Meetup, our group convened at Phoenix Theatre for No Nude Men Productions’ world premiere of Marissa Skudlarek’s PLEIADES, a modern retelling of the Greek myth of the seven Pleiades sisters.
